Longing for 2011?
Line 39 Wines

Although many wineries struggled with the late and wet spring and cooler summer temperatures of the 2011 growing season - a good handful of wineries and winemakers persevered.  Taste all of the goodness 2011 had to offer in this bottle and stock up!  This wine's price has been slashed in HALF to make way for new vintages.

Product Description

In the autumn of 1989, Jess Jackson acquired the Zellerbach winery and renamed it in honor of his late father, Jess Stonestreet Jackson. Stonestreet quickly garnered international acclaim for their powerful reds and luscious whites.
Today, Stonestreet wines are undergoing a transformation, using fruit from Alexander Mountain Estate and new winemaking techniques. Alexander Mountain Estate, with lean, well-draining soils and cooler temperature, produces fruit with smaller berries and more intense color and flavor. Stonestreet is dedicated to fulfilling the promise of Alexander Valley's exceptional and distinctive vineyards. Traditional, Old World methods of hand harvesting, small barrel lot production, native yeast fermentation and bottling each wine unfiltered brings out the best in specific grape varieties and provides the quality framework for each Stonestreet wine.

Stonestreet Estate Cabernet 2011 Tasting Notes

"The 2011 Stonestreet Estate Cabernet Sauvignon conveys aromas and flavors of pomegranate, cassis, blood orange and green peppercorns — a nervy, complex signature of the cooler vintage. The palate is stony, black-fruited and sanguine, with an abundant palate texture and firm backbone." - Winery Notes

The Ventana Vineyard was planted in 1974.  The vineyard was named "Ventana," Spanish for "window," because the vineyard lies up against the Ventana Wilderness in Monterey County, but also because it symbolized a "window to the future" in California viticulture.  At the time, there were very few vineyards in the area, but today, Monterey has taken its rightful place beside Napa and Sonoma as one of the great wine regions of California." - Winery Notes
